Giridih’s SIT team reveals the details of a high-profile Rs 5 crore cash robbery from a Gujarat driver, with six culprits arrested and a large sum recovered.
JAMSHEDPUR – Giridih’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) has unraveled a case involving a cash robbery of Rs 5 crore from a Gujarat car driver named Mayur Singh Jadeja and his associate, Jagat Singh Jadeja.
Six criminals involved in the theft have been arrested, and approximately Rs 3 crore 24 lakh 15 thousand in cash has been recovered.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Renu, along with several other officers, disclosed these findings in a press conference on Friday.
These revelations come two and a half weeks after the high-profile robbery took place in Jamua, Giridih on June 21st.
Since its establishment on SP Amit Renu’s orders, the SIT, including a team from the technical cell and 36 officials and police personnel, has been tirelessly working to solve the high-profile case.
The SIT conducted multiple raids, recovering eight mobile phones and two vehicles, and arresting the six criminals involved.
The recovered cash was brought to the press conference in a large box, and note counting machines were used to tally the total.
The gang’s alleged mastermind, Gulab Singh, remains at large, and is being pursued as the seventh criminal involved in this case.
Gulab Singh reportedly instructed the gang members to pose as police officers, recovery agents, or transportation officials, stopping and searching every vehicle passing by on GT Road and National Highway.
This series of events led to the targeting and eventual robbery of Mayur Singh Jadeja, who was transporting Rs 5 crore from Patna to Kolkata on orders from Bharat Singh Solanki, manager of Patna’s DY Company.
