The Meteorological Department warns of heavy rains and thunderstorms in Jamshedpur and 16 other districts, issuing a yellow alert.
JAMSHEDPUR – Heavy rainfall is expected in various parts of Jamshedpur and other districts of the state between July 4 and July 6.
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms in 17 districts including Jamshedpur over the next two days.
Scientist of the Meteorological Center Ranchi, Dr. Preeti Gunwani, stated that East Singhbhum, Sahibganj, Bokaro, Chatra, Deoghar, Dumka, Garhwa, Godda, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Latehar, Lohardaga, Palamu, Ramgarh, Simdega and Ranchi are among the alerted districts.
Residents of these areas have been advised to stay alert until the weather situation improves.
The Southwest Monsoon, which has covered the entire country six days ahead of the usual date of July 8, is credited for this weather pattern.
In the past 24 hours, isolated areas in the state have experienced light to moderate rain and thundershowers.
Despite the rain, Jamshedpur recorded the highest temperature in the state on Monday at 36.6 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Department also reports that the state has received 42 percent less rainfall than the normal amount so far this season.
