High Court Notice to Akhilesh Singh’s Men on Govt Bail Cancellation Petition
Court summons Akhilesh Singh’s alleged shooters, Sudhir Dubey and Kanhaiya Singh, to justify why their bail shouldn’t be revoked in light of increased criminal activities.
RANCHI – The High Court has served notice to Sudhir Dubey and Kanhaiya Singh, known as the shooters of infamous criminal Akhilesh Singh.
The division bench led by Justice Anand Sen posed the question to the pair as to why their bail should not be revoked.
The court’s query came in response to a petition submitted by the state government.
Dubey and Singh were previously sentenced to life imprisonment following their involvement in a murder case related to an incident at the Sonari police station in Jamshedpur.
The victim was identified as Amit Rai.
Both convicts appealed against the sentence in the High Court, requesting bail, which was granted in 2019.
The state government has since filed an intervention petition, urging the High Court to cancel the pair’s bail.
The government’s petition paints both individuals as notorious criminals, citing additional registered criminal cases against them.
The petition argues that their criminal activities have escalated since their release from prison, providing grounds for the cancellation of their bail.
