Buoyed by Dismissal of Defamation Complaint, Saryu Roy Advises Banna Gupta on Conduct
After Court dismisses defamation complaint against MLA Saryu Roy. Roy advises Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta to improve conduct.
JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy has launched a stinging critique against Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta.
Roy has warned that Gupta risks losing his power if he continues his reckless behavior.
Roy stated on Thursday that individuals often become intoxicated with power once they acquire ministerial status, leading to an environment where officials become fearful and corruption becomes widespread.
Following the dismissal of a criminal defamation complaint against him by Gupta in the Chaibasa MP/MLA court, Roy shared that his opinions are always formed based on careful consideration of the legal facts and circumstances.
It’s worth recalling that Minister Banna Gupta lodged a complaint against MLA Saryu Roy in the Special MP MLA Court at Chaibasa on May 10, 2023, alleging false accusations from Roy.
The complaint also included claims of political rivalry leading to Roy spreading false information via his social media and local media.
This included allegations of Gupta harboring and utilizing a banned weapon, a g44 Glock, which is considered a prohibited weapon.
After a legal notice was issued to Roy by Gupta’s attorney on May 3, 2023, no reply was received.
Upon examination, however, the MP/MLA Court declared Gupta’s complaint as non-maintainable, citing a lack of substantial evidence to proceed against Roy.
The court therefore dismissed complaint number 182/2023 against MLA Saryu Roy.
Emboldened by the court decision, Roy asserted that his remarks were based on fact and legal aspects.
Roy suggested Gupta should take his remarks as guidance to reform his behavior and exemplify the conduct befitting a minister.
