Malaria Department of Jamshedpur Gears Up for Rainy Season Disease Prevention
In preparation for the rainy season, Jamshedpur’s Malaria Department conducts a two-day workshop, training personnel in strategies for preventing diseases like Dengue, Malaria, Chikungunya, and Japanese Fever.
JAMSHEDPUR – With the rainy season on the horizon, the Malaria Department of Jamshedpur has heightened its vigilance by conducting a two-day workshop at Sadar Hospital.
This comprehensive training session aimed to equip the department’s personnel with effective strategies to combat and prevent the diseases typically rampant during the rainy season.
A systematic plan was drafted to safeguard the populace from ailments such as Dengue, Malaria, Chikungunya, and Japanese Fever.
The Malaria Department and the Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP) are set to jointly undertake this significant mission, holding prevention as the best line of defense against these conditions.
The training covered methods of outreach, from rural to urban areas, and instructions were given on how department-related employees would be conducting door-to-door awareness campaigns.
During the workshop, the District Malaria Officer disclosed that the participants of the workshop primarily included Breeding Checkers, Multi-Purpose Workers (MPW), Field Workers, and Surveillance Inspectors.
The officer emphasized that these diseases, often resulting from mosquito bites, can potentially be fatal and that mosquitoes typically breed in clean water.
Armed with the knowledge and strategy from this workshop, the department’s employees are now ready to hit the ground running, aiming to protect the people door to door from these hazardous diseases.
