Civil Defense Office Discusses Disaster Management Strategies in Jamshedpur

At a meeting in the Civil Defense office, Jamshedpur, discussions took place regarding disaster management strategies, flood rescue resources, and public awareness programs.

JAMSHEDPUR – An important meeting was held at the Civil Defense office’s conference hall in Bistupur, Jamshedpur, on Saturday, focusing on flood disasters.

The session, ordered by the Sub-Divisional Officer cum Deputy Controller Civil Security Jamshedpur, involved all civil security warden service members and volunteers.

The attendees shared their suggestions on a variety of issues related to disaster management, including rain-induced flood prevention.

Chief Warden Shakeel Anwar Khan, several divisional wardens, deputy divisional wardens, post wardens, and volunteers participated, along with Civil Defense officials Suresh Prasad, Principal Clerk cum Accountant, Vijay Kumar Clerk, and Prashant Kumar Tirkey.

Discussions in the meeting addressed the need for timely availability of resources such as boats, ropes, torches, oxygen cylinders, tube life-ways, life-way jackets, and more divers/swimmers during flood rescue operations.

In emergencies, identity cards and banners should be readily accessible.

To combat drug abuse, awareness campaigns, including street plays in schools and colleges, were proposed.

Pranayama Yoga sessions were planned for Yoga Day on June 21, 2023, at the Civil Defense Office, led by Pranav Naha, Deputy Divisional Warden.

A tree planting program was scheduled for Environment Garden Mango to combat pollution.

The use of civil security volunteers during festivals like Durgapuja, Ramnavami, Diwali, Chhath, Muharram was proposed for maintaining law and order.

Post Warden Mr. Vivek Trivedi suggested providing Civil Defense training to all Durga Puja Committee volunteers.

Participants were tasked with the implementation of the decisions made in the meeting.
