XLRI Jamshedpur Kicks Off Academic Year 2023-24 with More Students in BM-GM Than HRM

XLRI inaugurates 2023-24 session marking 75 years of its establishment. The student intake in BM-GM surpasses HRM, hinting a shift in career preferences.

JAMSHEDPUR – The inauguration of the academic year 2023-24 at XLRI was organized on June 12, 2023.

The ceremony was graced by Dean Admin Father Donald D’Silva and Dean Academics Prof. Sanjay Patro among others.

The director of XLRI, Prof. Father S. George addressed all the students in online mode and highlighted that this year marks the 75th anniversary of XLRI’s establishment.

He also called upon the students to maintain unity, be realistic, and have the courage to face both happiness and problems in their life journey.

The director emphasized that success comes to those who navigate through life’s ups and downs with resilience and determination.

He urged the students to strive for excellence even under challenging circumstances.

A total of 240 candidates have taken admission in XLRI’s Business Management (BM) and Double Masters LSCM course this year, with a majority being male students from an engineering background.

In contrast, the Human Resource Management (HRM) course saw 180 students enrolling, with a higher percentage of female students.

Meanwhile, the General Management course saw an admission of 115 students, predominantly 74.78 per cent male and 72.17 from an engineering background.
