Chhaya Foundation’s Free Plant Drive: Celebrating Environment Day

On International Environment Day, Chhaya Foundation distributes 300 free plants in Jamshedpur, contributing to a greener future and raising eco-awareness among local communities.

JAMSHEDPUR – On the occasion of International Environment Day, a novel initiative was undertaken at Parsudih Petrol Pump, Jamshedpur. Chhaya Foundation Charitable Trust, in collaboration with Bharat Petroleum, organized a free plant distribution ceremony where a total of 300 plants were handed out to locals.

These included 200 Aloe vera and 100 other assorted plant types.

The event was graced by distinguished individuals such as Former Zilla Parishad Vice President Raj Kumar Singh, journalist Shankar Agrawal, and current Zilla Parishad Vice President Pankaj Sinha. All attendees voiced concern over escalating environmental pollution and underscored the importance of planting more trees.

Highlighting the role of plants in maintaining a healthy environment, Shankar Aggarwal advocated for increased tree-planting around residences to mitigate issues like heat, soil erosion, and dust. He stressed the need for individual contributions to preserving environmental equilibrium.

Addressing the gathering, Chhaya Foundation President Rajendra Shah Raj warned against the dire consequences of indifference to pollution, citing the precarious environmental situation in Delhi.

The event was also attended by various community members, including Lakhan Vikrant, Pawan Sharma, Supriyo Das, Santosh Singh, Gautam Sheel, Sumit, and Arun Kumar Sharma. Chhaya Foundation’s secretary Chhaya Gupta extended the vote of thanks.
