ED Conducts Sweeping Raids on Properties Linked to MLA Pradeep Yadav and Others
Enforcement Directorate launches raids at 12 locations, including properties linked to Congress’s MLA Pradeep Yadav, following Income Tax investigations.
RANCHI – The Enforcement Directorate (ED) initiated a massive operation today, conducting raids at 12 locations linked to Pradeep Yadav, a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Congress party’s Podaihat constituency.
The raids, which started early this morning, are spread across multiple districts, including Ranchi.
The ED action was reportedly triggered by a report from the Income Tax (IT) department and is related to an ongoing tax case.
On November 4, 2022, the IT department had conducted a raid at the residences of MLA Pradeep Yadav and Bermo MLA Kumar Jaimangal Singh, also known as Anoop Singh.
This included Yadav’s houses in Ranchi and Godda, from where several documents were recovered. Following an analysis of these documents, the IT department referred the case to the ED for further investigation.
The recent ED raid was initiated after new information emerged related to the case.
Apart from MLA Yadav’s properties, the ED team also targeted Shivkumar, a builder residing on Cheshire Home Road, Ranchi, linked to a land scam case.
In a concurrent operation, the ED launched raids in Dumka at the residences of two senior officials from the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ajay Kumar Jha Mikki and Vinod Kumar Lal.
Vinod Kumar Lal is the outgoing Vice President of the Municipal Council, while Ajay Kumar Jha’s wife, Shweta Jha, recently completed her term as the president of the city council.
