Jamshedpur Police Arrest 3 More Youths for ‘Provocative’ Social Media Posts

Jamshedpur: The City Police have arrested 3 more youths for objectionable social media posts. On Tuesday too one youth was arrested for provocative social media post.

The police have been closely monitoring Facebook and WhatsApp groups following the recent case of violence in Shastri Nagar, Kadma in Jamshedpur.

On last Tuesday too a youth from Kadma Shashtri Nagar was arrested for a provocative social media post.

According to the police, recently, the police received information that some people were planning to create a WhatsApp group named ‘Hindutva’ in order to hurt the religious sentiments of a particular community and that it was scheduled for April 12, 2023.

To verify the technical evidence received by the police, they interrogated the group admin of the WhatsApp group, S Mukhi, aged 20 years, along with two other members of WhatsApp groups who spread religious hatred, R Mukhi, aged 19 years, and A Mukhi, aged 20 years.

According to the police, they were found to be involved in spreading religious frenzy, and their mobile phones were seized.

All three were arrested and sent to judicial custody.

The Jamshedpur Police have once again urged all residents to not fall for any rumors and not engage in any activities that can affect law and order.

The police have been actively monitoring social media to prevent any such incidents from occurring in the future.

The recent incident in Shastri Nagar, Kadma, has brought to light the importance of maintaining communal harmony and avoiding any activities that can incite violence or hurt religious sentiments, the police sources added.

The police have taken strict action against those found guilty of spreading religious frenzy and will continue to monitor social media to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.
