Assassination attempt on Imran Khan, lone suspect caught, but you never know

Desk: There has been an assassination attempt on Imran Khan, the ex-PM of Pakistan during his long march.

According to Pakistan news channels, there was a firing at Imran’s container near Allah Walla Chowk in Wazirabad. PTI Chief Faisal Javed and Ahmeda Chattha were also injured.

PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry tweeted that the attack on Imran Khan was ‘well-planned assassination attempt’.

The PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz has condemned the firing on Imran Khan.

She also said that she prayed for the speedy recovery of the former PM and others injured.

According to news received, Imran is being operated upon at Shaukat Khanum Hospital.

The suspect was allegedly caught. The police said that he wanted to kill Imran because he was misleading the public.

However, nothing can be said about the suspect yet definitely.

Pakistan has been going through a turmoil for the last several months. Imran Khan’s long march has rattled the Army and the establishment and this assassination attempt would further deepen the divide in the country.
