Jamshedpur: In a tragic turn of events on Thursday, Ritu Mukhi, the class IX student of Shardamani Girls High School, Jamshedpur, succumbed to her burn injuries on the sixth day of treatment at Tata Main Hospital.

Despite all the efforts of the doctors, Ritu could not be saved.

On the other hand, the security of TMH has been tightened after Ritu’s death. All the top officers of the district are camping in TMH.

Let us tell you that on Saturday, on the suspicion of cheating, the teacher had allegedly got the girl’s clothes taken off in the school, due to which the girl got hurt after reaching home and set herself on fire.

Giving details to the media, Jamshedpur Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav said, that the post-mortem of the girl student will be done at night itself.

A medical Board has been constituted for this.

She said that all necessary facilities will be provided to the family of the girl student’s family.

On the other hand, the girl’s mother said that the guilty should be punished severely.

Earlier, on Sunday last, Jamshedpur Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav had reached Tata Main Hospital and had enquired about the treatment and well-being of the girl.

She spoke to the doctors about Ritu’s health and progress and met the family members and assured them of all necessary assistance. Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav had said on Sunday that the Chief Minister himself has taken cognizance of the matter and if needed the girl student will also be taken to a big hospital.

However, the destiny had something else in store, as finally, on the sixth day, Ritu Mukhi succumbed to her injuries.
