Jamshedpur Class IX girl sets herself on fire, teacher’s role under scanner
Jamshedpur: In a shocking incident, a class IX student from Bhuiyandih Chhayanagar area set herself on fire after she was allegedly humiliated by invigilator during an examination.
She suffered 80 per cent burns and was rushed to MGM Hospital and then referred to TMH, where her condition was stated to be serious.

Relatives of the girl accused the invigilator of the school of having forced her to take off her clothes in the name of checking for ‘chits’ during examination.
They said that this caused a deep humiliation and shock in the girl and she set herself on fire.

The girl’s family is still in a state of shock.
Relatives of the girl said that she is a student of class IX of Shardamani School.
An internal examination was going on in the school.
The girl’s relatives alleged that the invigilator forced her to take off clothes in the name of checking for ‘chits’ on the suspicion of cheating in the examination.

She was allegedly taken to another room and examined without clothes.
Soon after returning home, she set herself ablaze and sustained serious injuries.
Sitaramdera police are investigating the matter.
