In the early hours of Wednesday, a Sumo vehicle carrying cow smugglers was set ablaze near Ganjia Barrage under Gamharia police station in Seraikela district.
JAMSHEDPUR – Around 4 AM on Wednesday, a Sumo vehicle (registration number JH05E-1386) transporting cow smugglers was set on fire near Ganjia Barrage under Gamharia police station in Seraikela district.
At the time of writing, the police had not yet arrived at the scene.
According to reports, the incident occurred when the Sumo was crossing the Ganjia Barrage, and the cattle inside began to make noise, alerting nearby villagers.
The villagers approached the vehicle, prompting the smugglers to abandon the Sumo and flee.
The villagers then freed the cattle and left the area.
Subsequently, someone set the Sumo vehicle on fire.
Sources indicate that cow smugglers frequently use this route to transport cattle, often without interference.
Remarkably, even three hours after the incident, the police had not reached the site.
