Odisha Police seize 24 tonnes of stolen scrap from Sitaramdera

Scrap dealers absconding, Raids on to nab them

Jamshedpur: A joint team of Odisha Police and Jamshedpur Police have seized 24 tonnes of scrap during a joint operation in Sitaramdera police station area of Jamshedpur. The iron scrap was from Jindal Company of Odisha and was dispatched to Patratu in Jharkhand. The dealers on whose premises the stolen scraps were found are absconding.

The joint team of Odisha and Jamshedpur police conducted this raid at around 4 o’clock in the morning on Sunday.

The police sources said that the scrap was coming from Odisha and was expected to reach Patratu in Jharkhand, but the goods were stolen on the way.

Odisha Police were investigating the theft and finally they got information about the whereabouts of the stolen goods and carried out a raid Sunday morning.

The police have recovered the scrap with the help of the Sitaramdera police station personnel. The scrap dealers are still absconding. The police are trying to nab them.
