Hawker Suffers Attack After Refusing to Buy Stolen Scrap in Burmamines
A local scrap hawker, Shriram Jaiswal, was severely assaulted in Jamshedpur after he declined to purchase stolen materials from a group of thieves.
JAMSHEDPUR – Shriram Jaiswal, a scrap collector based near Star Talkies in the Burmamines area, was violently attacked by three individuals over a dispute concerning stolen scrap.
The incident occurred on Friday evening when Jaiswal was approached by three men who attempted to sell him stolen scrap. Upon his refusal, the altercation escalated, resulting in Jaiswal being beaten with stones and sticks.
Jaiswal sustained serious injuries from the assault and subsequently reported the attack at the Burmamines police station.
Following his complaint, local authorities directed him to MGM Hospital for medical care, where he is currently receiving treatment.
During his report to the police, Jaiswal identified one of his assailants as Mangalam. His family accompanied him to the police station to lodge the official complaint against the trio involved in the attack.
The police are investigating the incident, focusing on the details provided by Jaiswal and his family.
