Youth shot at on Tata-Kandra Main Road, serious

Jamshedpur: Unknown criminals shot a youth returning from the court near Chadri on Tata-Kandra main road under Seraikela police station of Seraikela district.

The injured youth has been identified as Kalim Khan, a resident of Adityapur Muslim Basti. Kalim Khan is said to be the brother of Kadim Khan, an accused in many cases.

The police are now investigating the motive behind the attempt on Kalim’s life.

The injured person is undergoing treatment at Tata Main Hospital, where his condition remains critical.

On Wednesday afternoon, while returning from Seraikela, criminals who were waiting for him shot Kalim Khan. Kalim Khan was was ridign a bike when the attempt on his life was made.

The bullet pierced Kalim Khan’s shoulder.

Meanwhile, the District Bar Association vice-president Om Prakash and advocate Ambika Charan Pani were passing by through the area while Kandra police station had also reached the spot soon.

Together they sent injured Kalim Khan to Tata Main Hospital.

On receiving information about the firing, Seraikela SDPO Harvinder Singh and station in-charge Manohar Kumar reached the site of occurrence along with a police team.

Police have recovered Kalim Khan’s bike, helmet and a cartridge from the spot.
