Women tie Raksha Sutra on soldiers’ hands at Army Camp

A group of women tied Raksha Sutra on the wrists of soldiers deployed at Army Camp, Jamshedpur and wished them long life and happiness.

Jamshedpur: A large number of women tied Raksha Sutra on the writs of soldiers deputed at Jamshedpur Army Camp and wished them happiness and long life. It was a different kind of Raksha Bandhan in which every soldier was wished by a large number of sisters collectively.

According to Indian religious culture, the festival of Rakshabandhan is celebrated on the full moon day of Shravan month.

This festival binds brother and sister in the bond of affection.

Rakshabandhan denotes the sacred relation of brother and sister and is celebrated every year in the whole country with great enthusiasm.

But this year, in view of the corona infection, it will be celebrated as per the guidelines of the government.

A large number of women turned out to tie rakhi to soldiers at Jamshedpur Army camp.

They said that the soldiers and officers who protect the country live far away from their families.

They said that it is because of the soldiers that the citizens of India are living life in peace.

In order to protect the soldiers and to reassure them about the love and respect the country has for them, the women tied raksha sutras on their wrists.

The programme was organised Wednesday evening, in the Military Camp located at Sonari Circuit House.

Members of Mahila Utthan Mandal and All India Marwari Mahila Sammelan tied rakshasutra and prayed for the long life of soldiers.

Colonel Laxmikant said that he does not remember the last time when he celebrated Raksha Bandhan at home.

He said that all the soldiers are happy seeing so many sisters who are there to tie Rakhi on their hands.

He said that it felt like they were with their families.

Rani Gupta, patron of Srishti Mahila Vikas Sahyog Samiti, said that it is good that so many sisters are tying rakhi to the brothers who live far away from their families to protect the country.

Meera Tiwari of Astitva Sanstha said that it was great to pray for long life of soldiers who protect us.
