3 arrested in Loco Colony loot case; pistol, cartridge, Scooty, ornaments seized

Jamshedpur: In a major success, a team of city police cracked the case of loot that had taken place on Friday last in Loco Colony and arrested 3 persons involved in the case.

The police have also seized one pistol, 6 cartridges, one Scooty, Rs. 5.7 lakh in cash, 9 pairs of payal, 4 silver chains, 62.350 grams of gold and one gold ring among other things.

The city police led by the SSP Dr. M Tamil Vanan himself has been active against criminal gangs involved in different crimes in the city.

The city police have solved the Loco Colony loot case within 2 days.

On Friday, a few miscreants had taken a family hostage in railway quarter in Loco Colony under the jurisdiction of Parsudih police station and had looted cash and ornaments.

The City SP had formed a team to solve the case.

The team soon arrested one Amit S from Sundernagar and another youth Babu P from Godown Maidan.

The police also seized one loaded pistol with 6 live cartridges and a Scooty from their possession.

Later, after interrogating the accused, the police were successful in finding and seizing Rs. 5.78 in cash, looted ornaments as well as 62.350 gram of gold.

The police later also arrested Samresh P alias Nantu S from his shop for assisting the accused.

Later, the SSP told the media that the loot incident had taken place on July 30. Seeing the gravity of the crime, the police forced a team under the leadership of City SP Subhash Chandra Jat.

The team was tipped off on Saturday that a few people were active near Godown Maidan near Jagannath Mandir.

The police raided the place and arrested Amit S and Babu P from the site.

The police found a loaded pistol and six cartridges from their possession.

During interrogation, they accepted their involvement in the loot case.

The police said that the accused were also involved in some earlier loot cases too.

The three accused have been sent to judicial custody. Police are also looking for other persons involved in the case.

The city police raid team was being led by City SP S C Jat and included ASP Kumar Gaurav, Dy SP (Law & Order) Faiz Akram, officer in charge Vimal Kindo, SI Subodh Badaik, Sanjit Kumar, Ravi Kant Parashar, Rahul Singh, Deepak Kumar Maurya, Ravindra Singh, Anand Kumar Pandit, Munni Kumari, Satyendra Kumar, Satish Pandey, Thakur Satchidanand Singh, Kamal Kant Singh, Lalit Kumar Mahato, Vikas Kumar and Rajkumar Singh.
