Police crack firing case, two sent to jail

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Police on Saturday unravelled the case of firing near Sukumar Pradhan’s house near Hill View Colony under the jurisdiction of MGM police station.

The city Police have arrested two accused in this connection and have sent them to judicial custody.

During the arrest, the police have also confiscated an unnumbered Pulsar motorcycle and a cartridge recovered from the site of occurrence.

The accused who have been arrested include K Kumar alias Sonu and R Kumar alias L Yadav.

Giving details of the case, the SSP Dr M Tamil Vanan said that both of them had carried out the incident with the aim of extortion in the name of one Vikas T, who is presently in jail.

During interrogation, both have confessed to their involvement in the crime in their statement, he said.

The SSP Dr M Tamil Vanan said that the police suspect that there is a possibility of involvement of other criminals in the case too.

The police are looking for others too. The SSP said that after carrying out the incident, both the accused had fled towards the highway.

MGM Police has unravelled the case although the face and motorcycle number of the accused are not very clear in the CCTV footage.

It is being considered a big success for Jamshedpur Police.

The City SP Subhash Chandra Jat, Dy SP and station in-charge were also present during the press conference.
