Ruckus in MGMCH after mother and baby die during delivery

Jamshedpur: Wife and baby of Bimal Mukhi of Bhalubasa Harijan Basti died during delivery in the gynaecological ward of MGM College & Hospital on Monday. Angered residents of Bhalubasa Harijan Basti alleged that the mother and baby died due to negligence of the hospital and created a ruckus on the premises.

They also stopped the car of the Superintendent and held a demonstration against the alleged negligence.

Bimal Mukhi said that he brought his pregnant wife at 3 a.m. in the hospital and got her admitted. He said that the doctor asked her to bring in blood for transfusion, which he did.

He said that despite his arranging blood for transfusion, it was not transfused immediately for some reason and the nurse said that it would be done later.

However, he said, he was asked to make her walk, which he did. However, during walking, she started vomiting.

Bimal Mukhi blamed the hospital for the untimely death of his wife and baby during delivery at 5 a.m.
