DC reviews steps to prevent Covid-19 spread

Jamshedpur: The DC of East Singhbhum, Suraj Kumar, held an online review meeting and discussed steps being taken for the prevention and containment of Covid-19 in different parts of the district.

Steps including deployment of personnel at check posts, checking of incoming visitors and their data entry at check posts in the district were also discussed.

The DC directed the officials to ensure that RTPCR tests in the district are conducted as per the targets set by the state government.

Also, it was decided to seek the the help of volunteers for compliance of social distancing at vaccination centers and public areas.

During this, all the incident commanders were instructed to conduct surprise inspections of the check-posts daily.

Along with this, all the Block Development Officers were directed to conduct regular review of the availability of medical oxygen and other essential basic medical equipment.

The DC said that the spread of corona infection has declined, but as the rules of Health Protection Week are relaxed, the risk of corona infection spreading again also remains.

The DC also appealed to the residents to not go to outside without reason and to avoid crowded places.

He also stressed the need to follow social distancing.

During this, ADM (Law and Order) Nandkishore Lal, said that it is necessary to get covid tests done for all the visitors entering the district.

He said that except Pardih and New Bridge check post, the required action is not being taken for data entry in other places.

He said that any laxity in covid tests now can create trouble in the future.

He also warned that if even a single person infected with Delta Plus variant enters the district, the risk of the pandemic spreading fast again cannot be avoided.

The DC directed the officials to show vigilance at all the check posts. It was also decided to increase manpower deployment at the check posts.
