World Vitiligo Day observed in MGM Hospital

Jamshedpur: World Vitiligo Day was observed on Friday in the auditorium of MGM College & Hospital.

After an inspection of the hospital premises, a seminar was held in the hospital.

Dr AN Jha, dermatologist, of MGM Hospital, the largest hospital in Kolhan, said that the problem of white spots appearing on the skin is not incurable. It is 100% treatable.

Dr Jha said that people normally associate vitiligo with superstition, but in modern medical practice, it is treatable.

Describing it as a skin disease, he said that the patient should seek medical help as soon as its symptoms appear, so that it can be treated in time.

Dr Jha said that with the aim of removing the wrong impression and the stigma attacked with this disease, dermatologists around the world celebrate World Vitiligo Day, so that the misconception about it can be done away with.
