Police in alert mode after eve-teasing incidents in running tempo

Jamshedpur: After reports of eve-teasing in running auto-rickshaw in Adityapur Thursday night has put the Seraikela-Kharsawan police in action. Earlier, a similar case of eve-teasing with a lady passenger in Jamshedpur was also reported.

According to information received, it was reported that a girl had to jump off from a running auto after eve-teasing.

This incident has put in the police in both the districts in alert mode. Seraikela-Kharsawan traffic police have launched an intensive checking for Autorickshaws near Kharkai check post.

The police teams are vetting the documents of the auto-drivers and are also taking their mobile numbers for matching.

The traffic police in-charge Sushama Kumari said that the drive has been launched to ensure safety of all passengers.

She said that the documents of the auto-rickshaw drivers are being matched and verified and licences are being checked too, so that the auto drivers could be contacted whenever required.

The traffic police in-charge said that the drive would continue even in future.
