Adivasi Moolvasi Sangh protests land barricading

Jamshedpur: Members of Adivasi Moolvasi Sangh burnt a copy of the khatiyan of a disputed land on Wednesday at district headquarters and protested against alleged barricading of Khatiyani land belonging to one of the claimants of the land Ravi Rajak by the company.

Ravi Rajak had filed cases against land officer of Tata Steel and Deputy GM of Jusco earlier too.

Giving details about their protest, the convenor of Moolvasi Vikas Manch Harmohan Mahato said that the plot of land in Mauza Gumda Goda thana number 1157, khata number 5, plot numbers 634, 636, 637, 638, 639, 640, 641 and 642 is recorded in the name of Durlabh Dhoba, while this is recorded as plot no 1233, 1240 and 874 of Khata number 622 in the new lease agreement signed in 2005.

He said that Tata Steel claims that the land belongs to it and is trying to take possession.

He said that the verdict has gone against the company in High Court, while the case is sub juice in Supreme Court.

He said that seeing the status of the case, it is wrong on the part of the company to try to take possession of the land belonging to a Harijan.

He charged that Tata Steel was violating the lease renewal terms and urged the DC to take appropriate action against the company.
