PM Narendra Modi and President Putin Discuss Global Issues, Highlight Importance of Dialogue and Diplomacy

The two leaders took this opportunity to review the progress of bilateral cooperation between their respective nations.

The situation in Ukraine was also discussed during this conversation, with PM Modi once again advocating for dialogue and diplomacy.

Both leaders agreed to maintain contact and strive for further strengthening of the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between India and Russia.

The discussion occurred against the backdrop of recent political unrest in Russia, known as the Wagner Rebellion, from which Putin has recently emerged.

Despite the speedy resolution of the rebellion, Putin’s impact on world affairs remains to be seen.
