Congress workers protest farm laws, burn effigy of Narendra Modi
Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum District Congress Committee led a demonstration against the farm laws and burnt the effigy of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Sakchi Gol Chakkar on Saturday.
A large number of Congress workers and supporters today protested the farm laws passed by the NDA government. They also shouted slogans against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and demanded that his government withdraw the farm laws. They claimed that the farm laws would hurt the interests of the farmers.
Later, speaking to the media, Congress leader Prince Singh said that the farm laws are not in the greater interest of the farmers and that is why the farmers have to take to streets to oppose these black laws.
Terming the farmers’ protests as justified, he said that the union government would have to pay heed to the farmers and would have to withdraw these laws.
