Agitating Tana Bhagats block train movement at Tori station, Rajdhani Express stranded

Ranchi: A large number of Tana Bhagats blocked both the up and down railway tracks at Tori railway station under Dhanbad Railway Division on Barkakana-Daltonganj Railway Section.

The railway tracks have been blocked since Wednesday evening. A number of Tana Bhagats are still blocking the tracks bringing the movement of trains on the section to a complete halt.

Rajdhani Express as well as 100 goods trains are stranded at Daltonganj and different other places.

A team of administrative officers led by Latehar SDM Sagar Kumar has been trying to persuade Tana Bhagats to lift the blockade, but to no avail. Around 500 Tana Bhagats are still present at the site.

Tana Bhagats are also ringing bells once in a while.

A large number of locals are also assembling at the place to see the agitating Tana Bhagats.

Police are busy removing the local bystanders.

Even the DRM of Dhanbad Railway Division A K Mishra has appealed to the agitators to allow train movements and lift the blockade.

The Spokesman of Jharkhand BJP Pratul Shahdeo has supported the demands of Tana Bhagats and expressed regret that no representative of Hemant Soren government has shown any willingness to speak to the agitating Tana Bhagats about their demands and break the impasse.
