Jharkhand extends lockdown up to Sep 30, JEE-NEET examinees exempted

Admit card to be treated as entry pass, exemption even for containment zone students

Ranchi: The government of Jharkhand has extended the lockdown up to September 30 now. However, despite the extension of lockdown, the examinees of JEE and NEET to be held in 2020 will be allowed to write their exams as special provisions have been made for them.

Although, the Chief Minister is opposing the decision of the central government to hold the competitive examinations, he has also ensured that the examinees of the state face no problems in writing the exams whenever those are held.

Even the students living inside containment zones would be allowed to go out and write the exams.

The state government has issued new guidelines for the measures to be taken for containment of Covid-19.

According to the guidelines issued late night on August 28, the examinees shall be exempted from all restrictions related to containment zones and their admit card shall be treated as entry pass for this purpose.

The guidelines say: “The examinees shall also be exempted from mandatory quarantine protocol in the course of interstate movement for the purpose of appearing in examination.”

The guidelines for all other services, like restaurants, inter-state public transport, shopping malls etc remain unchanged.

According to new guidelines all economic activities, not specifically prohibited, shall be permitted outside the containment zones. However, social, political, sports, entertainment, academic and cultural, religious functions, fairs, processions and other large congregations shall remain prohibited.

Schools, colleges, cinema halls, swimming pools, parks, theatres, bars, auditoriums, assembly halls shall remain prohibited.

Interstate transport by bus too remains prohibited.
