Special drive in city against social distancing violators

Police arrest several persons in Sakchi for not wearing mask in public places

Jamshedpur: In view of the increase in the number of fresh Covid-19 positive cases in the district, the administration has now started taking strict measures to enforce social distancing and other safety norms in urban as well as rural areas.

The City SP Subhas Chandra Jat, SDO Chandan Kumar and ADM and Special Officer of JNAC, Krishna Kumar, today toured in the different areas in Sakchi Market on Thursday evening.

They also advised the shopkeepers to maintain social distance and ensure that there is no crowding outside their shops.

The police team also arrested a few persons who were not wearing masks. Later, all the arrested persons were granted bail at the police station itself.

The DC had held a special meeting on Wednesday and had instructed the officials to launch a special drive between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. to ensure that no laxity is shown anywhere.

Since then special drives are being conducted in different police station areas of the city and action is being taken against those who do not wear mask in public places.
