Red Cross Brings Light to Eyes During Makar Sankranti

East Singhbhum Red Cross Aids Eye Patients with 706th Netra Jyoti Yagya

In a compassionate move during Makar Sankranti, the East Singhbhum Red Cross Society, in collaboration with several organizations, illuminates the lives of those whose celebration is marred by visual impairment.

JAMSHEDPUR – In an impressive medical initiative coinciding with Makar Sankranti, the Red Cross Society of East Singhbhum, along with partners, successfully conducted the 706th Netra Jyoti Yagya.

B. K., a representative from B.P. Oil Mills Ltd., officiated the event by inaugurating the operation theater at Ram Manohar Lohia Nethralaya, Baghbeda Police Station Chowk.

This event was a collaborative effort with Ram Manohar Lohia Netralaya, Draupadi Devi Chimanlal Bhalotia Family Trust, Rajasthan Seva Sadan, and District Rural Health Committee, B.P. Oil Mills Ltd. Jamshedpur Depot.

Local B.P. Oil Mills officials, Dharmendra Kumar Rai and Birendra Kumar Singh, along with Ramesh Joshi, supported this cause.

Medical expertise was provided by Dr. B. P. Singh, Dr. Bharti Sharma, Dr. Poonam Singh, Dr. Vivek Kedia, and their team.

They performed critical eye surgeries and lens implantations for 35 patients, bringing hope and vision to those in need.

Red Cross Society’s Honorary Secretary, Vijay Kumar Singh, and President Balmukund Goyal, played pivotal roles in organizing this life-changing event.

Chandramohan Singh and Rakesh Mishra, social workers, also contributed significantly.

The event follows the first blood donation camp of the year by B.P. Oil Mills at Red Cross Bhawan, which witnessed 101 volunteers donating blood on January 8th.

Rakesh Mohan Singh, Kishan Aggarwal, MLA Vishwas, Prakash Mishra, Prakashbhanu Mahato, Ashish Singh, Radheshyam Kumar were integral in supporting the operation session.

Patients who underwent surgery will receive a final examination on Monday, after which they will be provided with necessary medicines and spectacles before discharge.
