All inmates in Bhagwan Birsa Biological Park Ranchi found free from corona infection

Ranchi: All the inmate animals of Bhagwan Birsa Biological Park are free from corona infection. The test report of animals were received on Saturday.

The zoo management had gone into an overdrive after the untimely demise of a tiger and a bear.

Shocked by these animal deaths, the zoo management had decided to conduct SARS-COV-2 test of all bigger animals.

Samples of twelve large animals including that of 7 tigers (Java, Gauri, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Kaveri, Malik and one dead tiger Shiva), 3 lions (Viru, Jaya and Priyanka), a leopard Radha and a black panther Mirza were sent for random tests.

The samples were sent to Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izzatnagar, Uttar Pradesh for test. The results of SARS-COV-2 of all animals have come as negative.

Soon after negative reports were received by the zoo, the officers and staff of the zoo heaved a sigh of relief.

The way the tiger Shiva died had caused concern and fear among the zoo personnel.

The zoo workers were also scared of going near animal enclosures due to covid infection fears.
