Key Points:

- CGPC president and general secretary present robes and mementos to honourees
- Sikh Naujawan Sabha honour also conferred during the ceremony
JAMSHEDPUR – Surjeet Kaur was honoured on Monday for taking charge as president of the Sarjamda Gurdwara Sikh Women’s Sangat. The felicitation ceremony took place at the office of the Central Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, located in Sakchi.
Bibi Ravinder Kaur, president of the Central Sikh Women’s Sangat Sabha, presented the honour to Surjeet Kaur. General secretary Paramjeet Kaur also took part in the ceremony.
Both office-bearers expressed hope that Surjeet Kaur would carry her tenure forward inclusively. They said she would take everyone along and contribute actively to service at the gurdwara.
Several other office-bearers were felicitated alongside Surjeet Kaur. Navneet Kaur, Jaspal Kaur and Manjeet Kaur were each presented with an odhni and a memento during the event.
The ceremony also addressed an earlier absence. Bibi Ravinder Kaur had been unable to attend the Sarjamda Gurdwara’s foundation day celebrations recently due to unavoidable reasons.
To mark the occasion, Bibi Sarabjeet Kaur presented Ravinder Kaur with an honour on behalf of the Sikh Naujawan Sabha. The gesture was intended to recognise her contribution despite her earlier absence.
CGPC president Sardar Bhagwan Singh and general secretary Amarjeet Singh attended the special occasion. Several other office-bearers of the committee were also present.
