Case Now Proceeds Under Murder Charges, Police Confirm

JAMSHEDPUR – Himanshu Singh, who was critically injured in a stabbing outside the Double Down club, died on Monday during treatment at Tata Main Hospital. His condition had remained extremely critical since the incident took place late on Saturday night.

Doctors had been making continuous efforts to save him. However, despite repeated medical intervention, his life could not be saved.

The stabbing occurred outside the Double Down club in the Bistupur police station area. A dispute between two groups escalated rapidly into a violent clash.

The confrontation involved both physical assault and stabbing. Several young men, including Himanshu Singh, sustained serious injuries during the violence.

All the injured were rushed immediately to Tata Main Hospital for treatment. Himanshu’s condition remained a cause for serious concern throughout his time there.

News of his death on Monday triggered grief among his family members. Meanwhile, the locality has been gripped by a mood of mourning and anger over the incident.

Local residents have demanded the swift arrest of those involved in the attack. They have also called for strict legal action to be taken against the accused.

Bistupur police have intensified their investigation following the development. Officers are examining CCTV footage from cameras installed near the scene of the crime.

Investigators are also collecting statements from eyewitnesses alongside other evidence. Police said the nature of the case has changed following Himanshu Singh’s death.

“The investigation will now proceed under murder charges,” a police officer said, noting that all those involved would be identified and arrested at the earliest. Officers added that strict action would follow under the law once the accused were apprehended.

The case had earlier seen 11 people booked, including BJP leader Neeraj Singh, for attempted murder. Two of the accused had already been arrested in connection with the case before Monday’s development.
