JAMSHEDPUR – Burglars looted valuables worth lakhs from a locked house in Telco while the family was away for several days.

The incident took place in Neeldih area under Telco police station limits. Thieves targeted the residence in Gayatri Nagar.

Meanwhile, the house belonged to Avadhesh Singh, a long-time resident. His family had lived there for nearly five decades.

However, the family had recently shifted to a new house. They were staying in Namda Basti for the past week.

Moreover, most belongings were still kept in the old house. Only one family member stayed there earlier.

However, that person also left three days ago. He had gone to attend a wedding.

Meanwhile, thieves took advantage of the empty house. They broke open locks of all rooms.

Moreover, cupboards were forced open inside the house. Jewelry and valuables were stolen.

The stolen items included gold and silver ornaments. Their value is estimated between ₹15 lakh and ₹20 lakh.

On the other hand, the incident came to light on Thursday morning. The driver arrived to take out a vehicle.

However, he found the house lock already open. He entered and noticed the absence of valuables.

Meanwhile, he immediately informed the owner. Avadhesh Singh rushed to the spot.

Moreover, the family found all locks broken. Cupboards were empty and valuables missing.

The family then informed the police. Officers reached the location soon after.

Meanwhile, an investigation has been started. Police are examining the method used in the theft.

In contrast, similar incidents have been reported recently. Closed houses are increasingly being targeted.

Moreover, police suspect a pattern behind such crimes. Surveillance and local inputs are being reviewed.

The case has added to growing concerns in Jamshedpur. Residents have demanded increased patrolling in vulnerable areas.
