Manoharpur: Two teenagers died in a tragic road accident in Manoharpur of West Singhbhum district on Sunday afternoon. The two friends, who had set out to learn how to ride a scooter, lost control of the vehicle while crossing the Calvert bridge and fell under the culvert. The accident was so serious that both of them died on the spot. After the incident, there was chaos among the family members, while a wave of mourning ran in the entire area.
The deceased have been identified as Watan Lohar, 14 year old son of Sanjay Lohar, resident of Old Manoharpur and Om Sandil, 17 year old son of Shiv Kumar Sandil, resident of Manipur. It is said that this accident happened on Sunday afternoon at around 12.30 pm.
According to the information, both the teenagers had borrowed a scooter from one of their friends and were going towards the nearby ground to practice driving it. Meanwhile, while crossing the Calvert bridge, the scooter went out of control and both of them fell under the culvert.
Both of them suffered serious injuries on their heads, legs and other body parts in the accident. Local people immediately took both of them to Manoharpur Community Health Center (CHC) for treatment, but the doctor on duty there, Dr. Vigyan, declared them dead after examination.
After receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot and took possession of the dead bodies and started further action. Due to the accident, a mountain of sorrow has fallen on both the families.
