JAMSHEDPUR – Joint trade unions met at Burmamines Gate to prepare workers for the February 12 nationwide general strike.

The meeting was held at the Tisco Burmamines Gate area. A large number of workers attended the discussion. However, union representatives also participated actively.

Meanwhile, leaders discussed strike strategy in detail. They highlighted workers’ issues and future programmes. Moreover, labour law changes were raised repeatedly.

Senior labour leaders present included Vishwajit Dev and Ambuj Kumar Thakur. Others included Nigmanand Pal and Dhananjay Shukla. Sanjay Singh was also present.

On the other hand, speakers focused on employment conditions. They cited rising contractual work practices. Wage inequality and weak social security were also discussed.

Ambuj Kumar Thakur addressed the gathering. He said the February 12 strike was crucial. He described it as a fight for workers’ dignity.

Meanwhile, unions decided on outreach campaigns. These campaigns will target industrial areas. Moreover, awareness among workers will be increased.

In contrast, leaders stressed collective unity. They urged workers to remain united. The meeting concluded with a joint resolve.
