Police Arrest Accused in Galudih Firing and Stabbing Case

Pistol and Live Cartridges Seized After January 12 Attack

JAMSHEDPUR – Police have arrested one accused in a firing and stabbing case reported from the Galudih area.

The incident occurred on January 12, 2026, under Galudih police limits. Unknown criminals attacked a shop owner using gunfire and knives. However, the victim suffered serious injuries during the assault. Moreover, the attack took place inside a Singer machine shop.

The shop is located in Khadiya Colony area. Meanwhile, the injured person was identified as Tarachand Mahato. In contrast, the assailants fled immediately after the attack. Consequently, a police case was registered at Galudih police station.

Senior officers treated the case as serious. Therefore, a special raiding team was formed. Meanwhile, continuous raids and technical surveillance were conducted. On the other hand, police tracked suspect movements carefully.

After sustained efforts, police arrested one accused on February 4, 2026. The accused was identified as Niwas Kumar Dubey, also known as Chhotu Dubey. Moreover, he is a resident of East Singhbhum district. In contrast, other suspects remain absconding.

Police recovered one pistol from the accused. Additionally, three live cartridges were seized. Meanwhile, the weapon was formally confiscated. On the other hand, interrogation of the accused is ongoing.

Rural SP Rishabh Garg confirmed the arrest. He stated investigations are continuing. Moreover, raids are underway to arrest other involved persons. However, police have not disclosed further operational details.

Earlier firing incidents have raised security concerns in Jamshedpur. Meanwhile, similar cases were reported in Chandil firing case. In contrast, arrests were also made in Jugsalai firing case.

Police action followed patterns seen in Dimna Road incident. Moreover, coordinated efforts were earlier reported in Adityapur cases. However, investigations continue across multiple locations.
