In a nail-biting encounter at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur FC, even with a man down, displayed a commendable spirit but succumbed to a 3-2 defeat to Mohun Bagan SG.
JAMSHEDPUR – The high-octane clash took an unexpected turn as Liston Colaco, with a stellar right-footed strike, gave The Mariners a crucial lead early in the second half.
Mohun Bagan SG eventually sealed the deal, with Kiyan Nassiri capitalizing on a fast break, finding the bottom right corner of the net.
However, not going down without a fight, Jamshedpur FC’s Steve Ambri showcased his brilliance, winning and converting a penalty to reduce the margin.
He nearly changed the outcome with another superb attempt, but was denied by the crossbar.
Earlier, the game kicked off with Mohammed Sanan K making a mark for Jamshedpur FC, scoring a long-range beauty, exploiting Subhasish Bose’s defending error.
Armando Sadiku soon equalized, displaying his skill, combining with Manvir Singh for Mohun Bagan SG.
