In a pulsating encounter at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Tuesday, FC Goa emerged victorious against Jamshedpur FC, courtesy of Borja Herrera’s dramatic 95th-minute winner. The hard-fought 3-2 victory propelled the Gaurs to the third spot in the points table, level with Mohun Bagan Super Giant at 42 points from 21 matches.

JAMSHEDPUR – FC Goa secured a thrilling victory over Jamshedpur FC in a closely contested match that kept spectators on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.

Borja Herrera’s last-gasp winner in the 95th minute sealed the three points for the Gaurs, who now find themselves in third place in the points table, tied with Mohun Bagan Super Giant at 42 points from 21 games.

The match witnessed a series of twists and turns, with both teams vying for control and creating numerous goal-scoring opportunities.

Jamshedpur FC drew first blood in the 17th minute when Rei Tachikawa capitalized on a defensive lapse to slot the ball into an empty net, registering his fifth goal of the season.

However, FC Goa’s response was swift and decisive, as Noah Sadaoui, riding high on his hat-trick performance against Hyderabad FC, equalized for the Gaurs with a powerful strike from an acute angle.

The Moroccan attacker’s goal was a testament to his incredible form and his ability to make an impact in crucial moments.

FC Goa then took the lead through Carlos Martinez, who volleyed the ball into the Jamshedpur goal after being set up by an unmarked Sadaoui in the box.

The Gaurs had multiple chances to extend their lead, with Brandon Fernandes and McHugh both striking the crossbar, while Martinez was denied by a superb block from Pratik Chaudhari.

Jamshedpur FC fought back valiantly and found the equalizer in the 73rd minute through Seiminlen Doungel, who held off Goa defenders before chipping the onrushing goalkeeper Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem.

With the match hanging in the balance, FC Goa pressed forward in search of the winner, with McHugh and Herrera both striking the frame of the goal.

In the dying moments of the game, Borja Herrera’s shot caught Jamshedpur goalkeeper Vishal Yadav off guard, sealing a dramatic victory for the Gaurs.
