SERAIKELA – A moving hyva truck struck a stationary vehicle near Kolabira in Seraikela early Saturday morning, leaving the driver critically injured.

The accident occurred around 12 am on Saturday. A hyva loaded with flux was traveling from Kandra towards Rajnagar. Meanwhile, another hyva stood parked by the roadside near Kolabira.

The moving truck rammed into the stationary vehicle from behind. Kartik Lohar, 27, was driving the moving hyva. He sustained serious injuries in the impact.

No one was inside the parked hyva at the time. This prevented a major tragedy. However, a car following behind also collided with the hyva.

The car passengers remained unhurt in the collision. On the other hand, the injured truck driver required immediate medical attention. Police reached the spot after receiving information.

Authorities sent Lohar to Seraikela Sadar Hospital via ambulance. He is currently undergoing treatment. The accident caused temporary traffic disruption on the route.
