KOLKATA – Kolkata-based Ananda Sangha will host Bharat Nritya Utsav 2026 on January 20 at Uttarpara Ganabhavan.

The cultural organization is partnering with SMB Foundation for this event. SMB Foundation holds recognition from the Government of India. The festival will run from 4 PM to 9 PM.

Artists nationwide can participate in the program. The event will feature 12 traditional dance forms. These include Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi, and Kuchipudi.

Moreover, the festival will showcase Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, and Manipuri styles. Sattriya, Rabindra Nritya, and Gaudiya Nritya will also be performed. In addition, Chhau and various folk dances complete the lineup.

Sayanti Chatterjee and Sourasish Chatterjee will direct the festival. California Television Global serves as the international media partner. This collaboration ensures global reach for the event.

The organization previously hosted Ananda Bijaya Nrityotsav in November 2025. That program featured 22 young performers. However, viewership extended far beyond the venue.

The November festival attracted 250,000 viewers across 15 countries. California Television Global provided the streaming platform. This international exposure highlighted the organization’s growing reach.

Ananda Sangha has established a pattern of hosting dance festivals. The upcoming Bharat Nritya Utsav marks its 2026 debut event. Furthermore, the festival celebrates India’s diverse classical dance heritage.

The Uttarpara Ganabhavan venue has hosted similar cultural programs. Dance students previously performed there featuring Tagore and Nazrul compositions. The location continues serving as a cultural hub.

Kolkata’s dance festival calendar includes multiple annual events. Kathak Marathon 2025 featured an 11-hour continuous performance. Besides, Madhurashtakam Dance Festival showcased 75 artists in the city.

The Reflecting Shakti program combined dance with devotional themes. On the other hand, Dover Lane’s classical festival took place at Sobhabazar Rajbari. These events demonstrate Kolkata’s vibrant dance ecosystem.
