JMM to Review Alliance After Bihar Election Debacle
Party Plans Assessment of RJD and Congress Performance
Key Points:
- JMM plans review of alliance partners RJD and Congress functioning
- Decision on assessment timing rests with Chief Minister Hemant Soren
- Party workers express concerns over allies’ role in government
RANCHI – Jharkhand Mukti Morcha will review the functioning of alliance partners Rashtriya Janata Dal and Congress following the grand alliance’s crushing defeat in Bihar assembly elections.
The review concerns allies in Hemant Soren’s coalition government. JMM seeks to assess their working methods. Moreover, party leadership will determine the assessment timeline.
Manoj Pandey addressed the planned review on Tuesday. He serves as JMM’s central spokesperson. Furthermore, he clarified the decision-making process.
“The decision rests with our leader,” Pandey stated. Chief Minister Hemant Soren holds the authority. In addition, he chairs the party’s central committee.
Leadership will determine when assessment occurs, he added. The timing remains under consideration. However, party workers have voiced their sentiments.
Party workers communicated their feelings to senior leaders. Their concerns reached the top leadership. Besides, these views influence upcoming decisions.
The grand alliance suffered significant losses in Bihar polls. RJD faced particularly heavy defeat there. Meanwhile, questions arise about Jharkhand implications.
Alliance differences have surfaced previously in Jharkhand. Seat-sharing created tensions earlier this year. On the other hand, coordination issues persist.
The JMM-Congress partnership governs Jharkhand currently under Soren’s leadership. Cabinet composition may face scrutiny now. Additionally, ministerial performance requires evaluation.
Political observers note Bihar’s election outcome impact. The defeat raises concerns about alliance effectiveness. Furthermore, governance questions emerge about coalition functioning.
