JAMSHEDPUR – The final day for withdrawal of nominations in the Ghatshila by-election concluded with one candidate stepping back, leaving 13 contenders in the fray, including 12 men and one woman.
Deputy Commissioner and Election Officer Karn Satyarthi informed that voters will cast their votes on November 11, and the counting of ballots will take place on November 14 at Cooperative College, Bistupur.
Meanwhile, the district administration has intensified preparations to ensure free and fair polling. Satyarthi stated during a press briefing that enforcement teams have seized around Rs 2.73 crore through continuous checks.
However, if the seized amount is found legitimate after verification, it will be returned to the concerned individuals.
In addition, 10 central paramilitary companies will be deployed to manage security during the election. Alongside them, police personnel and home guards will also be stationed at key locations to maintain law and order.
“The administration is fully ready to conduct peaceful elections,” Satyarthi assured during the briefing.
