JAMSHEDPUR – BJP members staged a protest outside Telco police station in Jamshedpur on Monday, alleging misconduct by police against party leaders, including Mandal President Vikas Sharma.
The protest, led by BJP district president Sudhanshu Ojha and other senior leaders, involved slogan shouting and a sit-in demonstration.
The protestors handed a memorandum to DSP Sudhir Kumar, demanding action against the officers involved.
According to the BJP, police personnel, including Munshi Ashok Kumar Singh and ASI Nandlal Pandey, behaved disrespectfully with their workers when they visited the station to submit a memorandum.
The BJP accused the officers of seizing mobile phones and threatening to tear down the party flag, which they claimed violated their rights.
They demanded the immediate suspension of the officers involved, as well as a departmental investigation and appropriate action.
DSP Sudhir Kumar assured the BJP leaders that he would submit a report on the incident to the SSP by Sunday.
The BJP workers ended their protest after receiving the assurance.
