JAMSHEDPUR – The 29th IMF East Zone Sport Climbing Championship entered its second day at the TSAF Sport Climbing Academy in Jamshedpur, featuring gripping contests in Lead and Speed events.
More than 100 climbers from Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal are participating in the competition. Day 2 showcased top performances as finalists displayed skill, endurance, and decision-making on the climbing walls.
In the Women’s Lead final, Anisha Verma claimed the top spot, followed by Kiran Singh Thakur and Aastha Rani Bhuyan. The Men’s Lead title went to Aman Verma, with Ronit Bandra and Suraj Singh taking second and third positions.
The Sub Junior Girls’ Speed final saw Manisha Hansda finish first, while Sita Singh Sardar and Arati Gagrai secured second and third places. In the Junior Girls’ Lead category, Nandani Singh emerged victorious, ahead of Savitri Samad and Sangita Tiyu.
According to organizers, athletes impressed with strong route reading and quick adaptability during dynamic moves. The atmosphere remained energetic as climbers battled in both Lead and Speed formats.
The Boulder and remaining Speed finals will be held tomorrow, with the championship concluding on September 8. The event continues to highlight the region’s rising talent in competitive climbing.
