JAMSHEDPUR – Religious activities in all major temples of Jamshedpur were stopped nine hours before the lunar eclipse began tonight.
The eclipse is scheduled to start at 9:57 pm and continue until 1:26 am. During this celestial alignment, the Earth’s shadow falls on the moon, creating the phenomenon.
Due to traditional beliefs, puja, path, and darshan were ended early. Entry into temple premises was restricted during the eclipse hours. Even prasad distribution and other activities were completed beforehand.
Customs advise devotees to avoid auspicious work during an eclipse. Pregnant women, children, and elderly people were asked not to step outdoors.
In addition, rituals such as bathing, meditation, chanting, and specific prayers are observed during this time. Believers consider these acts to hold special significance during the eclipse.
