JAMSHEDPUR – Road construction in Jugsalai constituency turned chaotic on Saturday when encroachers blocked work between Khassmahal and Govindpur crossing.
According to officials, locals stopped a JCB machine and attempted to halt construction. The matter was reported to the Circle Officer, who instructed land measurement.
In presence of Sub-Inspector Balwant Singh, the survey was conducted near Devaraj Palace at Shankarpur, Parsudih. Measurements revealed the land was government property.
Despite this, one family continued to oppose the work. The situation escalated when a husband and wife engaged in a public altercation, creating high drama. Panchayat representatives were also misbehaved with during the incident.
However, intervention by local representatives and villagers convinced the family, and the encroachment was removed. The local mukhia said the road project was long-awaited and should not be obstructed. He appealed to residents to cooperate.
Sub-Inspector Balwant Singh maintained that road construction will not be stopped. He warned that encroachments must be cleared, and if not done voluntarily, the administration will enforce removal.
