Vivek Vidyalaya Wins National Dance Contest in Dhanbad
Students from Chota Govindpur School Claim First Prize in Folk Dance Category

JAMSHEDPUR – Students from Vivek Vidyalaya in Telco area achieved first place in the 9th All India Dance Competition ‘Kala Heera’ held in Dhanbad on July 19.
The competition took place at Community Center CCWO Dhanbad. Moreover, it was organized under Koylanchal Bharat Coking Coal Dance Music and Drama Association. However, participants came from across the nation for this prestigious event.
A total of 190 artists participated from 10 different states. Furthermore, they competed in various categories including solo performances. In addition, group classical, semi-classical and folk dance competitions were held.
Students from Vivek Vidyalaya in Chota Govindpur area won the group folk dance category. Besides, their Bengali folk dance “Polash Tulir Mathe” captivated the audience completely. Meanwhile, the mesmerizing performance received tremendous applause from spectators.
The dance choreography was created by Maumita Chakraborty from Kolkata. However, she is a renowned classical dance expert. On the other hand, her expertise in Odissi dance form is widely recognized.
Organizers honored Maumita Chakraborty with “Guru Samman” award. Moreover, this recognition was for her special contribution to classical dance. In addition, Gayatri Singh received special honor for outstanding school performance.
Students were presented with mementos and certificates at the ceremony. Furthermore, Principal Avdhesh Kumar Singh congratulated all participants. Besides, he wished them success for future endeavors.
The event showcased India’s rich cultural heritage through dance forms. However, it also provided platform for young talent across states. Meanwhile, such competitions encourage preservation of traditional art forms.
