RJD May Announce Parallel Committee in East Singhbhum Today

Leaders Challenge Shambhunath Chaudhary’s District President Appointment

Key Points:

  • Meeting scheduled at Litti Chowk to discuss parallel committee formation
  • Complaint filed with Lalu Yadav over controversial appointment process
  • Former leaders allege constitutional violations in selection procedure

JAMSHEDPUR – The Rashtriya Janata Dal may announce a parallel district committee following disputes over the controversial appointment of Shambhunath Chaudhary as district president.

A crucial meeting has been convened at Litti Chowk near Bhuiyandih on Sunday at 10 AM. All former district presidents and prominent leaders received invitations. However, the gathering aims to address procedural irregularities in leadership selection.

Former district president Subodh Rai alias Subhash Yadav led the complaint delegation. Labor wing district president Lalan Yadav joined the protest initiative. Moreover, minority wing district president Baldev Singh supported the constitutional challenge.

The complainants approached party national president Lalu Prasad Yadav directly. They alleged improper appointment procedures violated party constitution. Furthermore, copies were sent to state president Sanjay Singh Yadav.

Chaudhary obtained RJD membership merely two months ago according to party records. The constitution mandates one-year minimum membership before contesting elections. Besides, similar restrictions apply to organizational appointments.

District election officer Janardan Kumar initially postponed elections on July 8. The notification followed complaints about Chaudhary’s eligibility status. Nevertheless, the appointment proceeded secretively on the originally scheduled date.

The controversial selection occurred on July 10 despite official postponement. Former youth president Noor Jama faced physical assault while protesting. In addition, complainants reported the incident to state leadership.

Kumar allegedly obtained signatures from state president through misrepresentation. He claimed elections had been conducted legitimately. Consequently, the appointment gained official recognition despite procedural violations.

Party veterans express concerns about constitutional adherence in organizational matters. They emphasize the importance of following established procedures. Meanwhile, the parallel committee formation reflects deepening organizational divisions.

The Sunday meeting will determine the final course of action. Leaders plan to discuss alternative organizational structures. However, the dispute highlights broader challenges in party governance.
